Dear Music Fans,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am grateful for your unwavering support as I sit at my desk, reflecting on my career and the journey that has led me to where I am today.
It’s been a wild ride. From battling on the streets of Detroit to performing sold-out shows worldwide, I never imagined my life would turn out this way. But it did, and I’m grateful for every moment of it.
I know that my music has profoundly impacted many of you. It’s humbling to hear your stories of how my words have helped you through tough times, inspired you to pursue your dreams, or made you feel less alone.
Music has always been a way to express my thoughts and emotions. It’s been my outlet, therapy, and way of making sense of the world. And I’m grateful to share that with all of you.
I also know that my music has been controversial at times. I’ve said things that have offended people, and for that, I’m sorry. But at the same time, I’ve always been true to myself and my art. I’ve never compromised who I am or what I stand for, and I never will.
As I look to the future, I’m excited to see what’s next. I have some new music in the works and can’t wait to share it with you. But more than that, I’m excited to continue this journey with all of you. I want to keep pushing boundaries, telling my story, and connecting with all of you through the power of music.
So, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everything. For your support, your love, and your loyalty. I wouldn’t be here without you.
Peace,
Eminem

The film is named after 8 Mile Road, a major thoroughfare in the Detroit area that divides the line between predominantly black and white neighborhoods. The road is significant because it runs past the now-closed Michigan State Fairgrounds, a popular venue for rap battles in the 1990s. The movie explores racial, class, and identity themes and features several rap battles in which B-Rabbit must use his skills to outwit and out-rap his opponents. The film was a critical and commercial success and helped to establish Eminem as a serious actor in addition to his successful music career.
“Stan” is a narrative rap song that tells the story of an obsessed fan named Stan, who becomes increasingly unhinged as he writes letters to Eminem, pleading for attention and recognition. The song takes its name from the character’s name, which has since become slang for overly obsessive fans. The song touches on themes of mental illness, celebrity worship, and the power dynamics between fans and their idols. The song’s chorus, which features the haunting vocals of Dido, serves as a powerful counterpoint to Eminem’s verses, providing an emotional anchor for the narrative and adding to the song’s sense of drama and intensity. “Stan” has been widely praised for its storytelling and social commentary and is considered one of Eminem’s most iconic and influential tracks.
