Young and Innocent (1937)
There’s not a tremendous amount to say about this sweet little romantic, comedic, semi-thriller. It’s about a young man who has been unjustly accused of a grizzly murder. He escapes detainment and sets out to find the true guilty party.
Along the way he encounters a young woman who just happens to be the chief of police’s daughter. Well this turns into that, she is convinced of his innocence by his handsome charm and wit, and the two fall deeply in love. This poor film is typically overlooked when critics compile “best of” lists of Hitchcock’s works, but should be appreciated by everyone.
